ATTENTION – Hotel Poacher/Pirate Alert: We have learned that unauthorized housing companies (poachers or pirates) have been contacting our members offering less expensive rates at hotels for Congress 2020. When individuals book hotel accommodations though poachers or pirates, the consequences can be costly: event participants may be left without hotel rooms when they arrive at the event and incur fraudulent charges on their credit cards. CPA has worked diligently with hotels in Ottawa to establish room blocks for attendees and exhibitors and does not work with third party housing providers. Improper solicitation of hotel reservations from any company or housing provider is not approved by CPA.
Taxi cabs are available to take you around Ottawa. View Ottawataxiapp.com to schedule a pick-up with one of the top three taxi companies in Ottawa (BlueLine, Capital Taxi or West-Way). Estimated fares from Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to the Westin Ottawa Hotel or Shaw Centre: $30.
Air Canada is pleased to offer a discount off ticketed prices when booking a flight for CPA’s Congress 2020. Use code: CMK6VXZ1 to secure your discount when booking online (enter the code in the search panel) or through CPA’s travel agent, Corporate Traveller at 613-828-7791.
Non-Canadians (including dual citizens and Canadian permanent residents) and USA citizens need to carry a valid passport to travel to and within Canada. Depending on your country, you may need to obtain a visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA) in addition to holding a valid passport. To receive a Letter of Invitation, delegates must first register for the CPA Event and a letter will only be issued to the delegate if their registration is paid full.
It is recommended that you start your visa application at least 6 weeks before the event. An invitation letter is no guarantee that you will receive a visa and it is the sole responsibility of the delegate to contact the embassy or consulate to obtain the necessary paperwork for entry into the country.
For visa application denials, the cancellation policy will be extended. The delegate must provide a copy of the visa denial letter to receive the refund. Refund requests must be in writing and sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Refund requests received after this date will not be accepted.
