Planning for Congress 2020 is underway! This is the one you should plan to attend. We will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association at the beautiful Shaw Centre in Ottawa, May 28-30, 2020.

Launching this summer is the Call for Presentations. CPA is collaborating with all Divisions to ensure that there will be content of interest to all CPA members – physiotherapists, physiotherapist assistants, and physical rehabilitation therapists, including clinicians, clinic owners, managers, educators, researchers, and students. There will also be a call for reviewers for the Abstract Review Committee; we appreciate the generosity of all our volunteers. We could not run Congress without you.

Division member meetings generally happen in conjunction with congress and are the perfect opportunity to get updates from the Division leadership team. They are a great way to network with physiotherapy professionals from across the country with the same interests. The CPA AGM will be held at the congress venue on Thursday afternoon and will provide you with a review of the state of the Association and a chance to add your voice on important issues.

The exhibit hall gives everyone a chance to see and touch all the latest tools available to help our patients or to manage our practices. We could not offer low registration costs without the help of our valued sponsors and exhibitors. Everyone is encouraged to spend time in the exhibit hall over the course of three days: engage with exhibitors and try their products.

Pack your fancy shoes and get ready to dance at the 100th Anniversary Gala fundraiser for the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC) on Friday night. Fun, food and friends… all in one place, and all in support of physiotherapy research and education!

Not used to sitting for any length of time? We hear you. We will be building more physical activity opportunities throughout Congress to allow you to move. All proceeds from the purchase of physical activity passes will support physiotherapy research and education through the PFC.

Lots of networking time is built in to the Congress program: from the opening reception to the health and lunch breaks in the exhibit hall. This is a great time to catch up with old friends and to meet new colleagues.

Never been to Congress? Don’t worry… we’ve got you covered. Our first-timers breakfast provides tips and tricks to get the most out of your Congress experience.

So, for now… save the date, and plan to join us in Ottawa, May 28-30, 2020!
