WHD Bursary Program
Four annual bursaries have been created to provide members with financial assistance to advance their training in women’s health and/or pelvic health.

2023 Award applications will open on February 15th, 2023
Jodi Boucher Advanced Practice Bursary
Amount: $750
The Jodi Boucher Advanced Practice Bursary has been established to assist our members in advancing their leadership and advanced skills by providing financial support. The bursary has been developed to recognize and honour Jodi Boucher for her outstanding leadership qualities and the countless contributions that she has made throughout her career as a physiotherapist. Jodi had a special interest in Women’s Health and contributed largely to the foundation and growth of pelvic health physiotherapy in Calgary and throughout the province of Alberta. The bursary will be presented to one WHD member per year who is seeking to advance their leadership skills.
The Women’s Health Division strives to support diversity within the practice of women’s and pelvic health physiotherapy. To support underserved populations, preference for this bursary will be given to practitioners who self-identify as a visible minority, a person with a disability, a member of the LBGTQ* community, or a person who practices in a remote/rural area.
The Yolanda Loo Bursary for Advancement and Education in Men’s Pelvic Health
Amount: $1000
Yolanda Loo was a prominent and treasured part of the Calgary Pelvic Health group, dating back to the early 2000’s. She was an extremely skilled therapist and a strong advocate for Men’s Health. Yolanda was an excellent teacher and mentor, and she loved sharing her extensive knowledge, experience and practical tips. This scholarship is for one WHD member seeking advanced training in the area of Men’s Pelvic Health. The funds would assist in registration fees and/or travel costs.
This bursary is a collaboration between Pelvic Health Solutions, Uro-Santé and WHD.
Entry to Practice Bursary
Amount: $1500
The Entry to Practice Bursary was established to support WHD members interested in pursuing continuing education in women’s health and/or pelvic health. The WHD strives to encourage practitioners to receive professional development in these areas to support our population needs in healthcare and increase awareness of the importance of women’s health and pelvic health. Preference will be given to students and new graduates (<1 year) and individuals practicing in remote areas with limited access to professional development opportunities.
