Pourquoi avoir choisi d\u2019\u00eatre sp\u00e9cialiste clinique?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plusieurs raisons m\u2019ont pouss\u00e9e \u00e0 devenir sp\u00e9cialiste clinique en physioth\u00e9rapie cardiorespiratoire. Je vous en citerai quelques-unes\u00a0: je souhaitais prendre part au programme inaugural; am\u00e9liorer les options de perfectionnement professionnel; lancer le mentorat dans ce domaine clinique; et relever un d\u00e9fi.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u2019est-ce la sp\u00e9cialisation clinique a chang\u00e9 dans votre pratique et quelles responsabilit\u00e9s assumerez-vous \u00e0 titre de sp\u00e9cialiste?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle m\u2019a fait remettre en question mes raisonnements cliniques, par rapport non seulement \u00e0 ma propre pratique, mais aux interactions et \u00e0 la pratique de tous les membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipe. Tous les jours, je me demande\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Pourquoi?\u00a0\u00bb et je pose aussi la question \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipe et aux patients, puis nous cherchons des r\u00e9ponses fond\u00e9es sur des donn\u00e9es probantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quels facteurs importants faut-il prendre en compte lorsqu\u2019on souhaite faire une sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 clinique?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re, on doit se renseigner sur le programme et s\u2019interroger sur ses motifs, mettre par \u00e9crit son plan pour devenir sp\u00e9cialiste, puis FONCER!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biographie<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Professor Hopkins-Rosseel graduated from the University of Toronto in 1982 with a B.Sc. in physiotherapy following two years in undergraduate Arts and Science at Queen’s University. She then practiced as a full-time physiotherapist at St. John\u2019s Rehabilitation in Toronto and the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in Worcester, before settling into Kingston at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. In 1986, Diana took on the role of \u2018Senior\u2019 on inpatients at Hotel Dieu with an expertise in critical care and maintained a general practice in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy until 2008. She was first introduced to cardiac rehabilitation in Massachusetts and has dedicated a great deal of her clinical and research time to pursuing this clinical area of practice since returning to Kingston in 1985. It was in this rehabilitation setting that she began to investigate behavioural modification theories and their application to improving rehabilitation outcomes. Diana\u2019s current areas of research include behavioural modification in cardiac rehabilitation, high-fidelity simulation in interprofessional education and clinical outcomes in cardiac rehabilitation and chronic disease prevention and management. In 1987, Diana accepted a part-time faculty position in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy as a Lecturer, while continuing practice in critical care as the Senior Inpatient Physiotherapist at Hotel Dieu Hospital. After successfully completing her Masters of Science degree in Rehabilitation at Queen\u2019s in 1991, Diana became a full-time Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy. She now holds the position of full Professor teaching cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, basic clinical skills, professional issues and business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
