GHD Mentorship Program 2019-2020

The GHD is committed to providing opportunities for professional development in the field of global health. Our mentorship program is suited for Canadian physiotherapists interested in working with, research for, or assisting in programs and policies for marginalized populations in Canada and around the world.

The goal of the mentorship program is to enable a process whereby an experienced, knowledgable, empathetic person (the Mentor) guides another individual (the Mentee) in the development and re-examination of their own ideas, learning and personal, as well as professional, growth in the area of global health.

Please send us your questions or expression of interest in participating as a mentor or mentee (or if you know anyone who would!) at ghdresearch@gmail.com before Tuesday, October 1, 2019. This year's program will run from approximately October 2019 to June 2020.

2018-2020 Indigenous Health Subcommittee Goals

The Indigenous Health Subcommittee has been working towards meeting our goals, as seen here. Some of the projects we have been working on include curating Indigenous health resources on the GHD website, planning activities for Congress 2020, and working towards building an Indigenous health leadership network. Be sure to watch you mail for the September/October edition of the Physiotherapy Practice magazine that will be an Indigenous health theme.
