The physiotherapist is part of the community health care team, striving to provide accessible and culturally relevant services to clients of all ages in a variety of settings.
Part-time to full-time physiotherapy opportunities are available.
The physiotherapist is ideally based in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut; living and working full-time (37.5 hours/week). They travel regularly to surrounding communities to provide community-based services, as well as telerehabilitation services between visits from Rankin Inlet.
Alternatively, the physiotherapist can be based elsewhere in Canada, but must be flexible to travel regularly to the Kivalliq region of Nunavut and provide ongoing follow up to their clients. They would be available to work regularly scheduled full-time hours when in Nunavut for defined blocks of time (3 or more weeks at a time), and then work part-time hours providing virtual telerehabilitation follow up from a home-based office. In this scenario, preference will be given to applicants based in Winnipeg or with a principal residence that has efficient air travel routes to the Kivalliq region of Nunavut.

Education and Qualifications:
• Physiotherapy degree required.
• Must be currently licensed to practice physiotherapy with good standing in a Canadian Province.
• Eligible for membership with Canadian Physiotherapy Association required.
• This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
Experience:
• Two or more years directly related general clinical experience preferred
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Experience in a cross-cultural setting preferred
Skills and Abilities:
• Effective oral and written communication, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team essential.
• Must have a well-developed understanding of professional responsibility and confidentiality.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision and be self-directed and prioritize own work.
• Proficiency in the Inuktitut language is an asset.
• Must be able to work in a remote setting with limited resources.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive assessment and intervention services to clients of all ages, with acute and chronic disorders of musculoskeletal, neurological and/or cardiopulmonary systems.
• The Physiotherapist is a part of a multidisciplinary health care team in a cross-cultural setting, providing comprehensive community-based services in the Kivalliq region.
Salary range is from $44.46 to $63.43 / hour depending on experience and location; $55.91- $63.43 per hour (in-Nunavut) $44.46- $53.06 (Not-in-Nunavut virtual care).
Travel expenses are reimbursed; relocation and northern living allowance to be determined by position.
