Founded in 2014 with a vision to revolutionize runner-focused care, we’ve built a thriving multidisciplinary team of movement specialists in Toronto over the past decade.

After our successful expansion to Hamilton in 2024, we’re growing rapidly alongside a vibrant local running community. Our centrally located new facility features a fully equipped gym bathed in natural light, creating an energizing environment for both practitioners and clients.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a passionate, growth-minded Physiotherapist to join our Hamilton team. This role offers the perfect blend of clinical excellence, collaborative practice, and community engagement in a rapidly expanding practice.

Your Impact

As a Physiotherapist at The Runner’s Academy, you’ll deliver exceptional care and empower runners and athletes with the tools they need to thrive in launching towards their goals. You’ll use your expertise to assess, treat, and guide a diverse clientele of motivated athletes who are committed to improvement and genuinely appreciate your specialized care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for runners and athletes of all levels.
  • Develop personalized rehabilitation and prevention programs that address both immediate concerns and long-term performance goals.
  • Apply evidence-based techniques including manual therapy, movement analysis, exercise prescription, and running gait assessment.
  • Collaborate within our multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care approaches.
  • Build relationships with local running groups, coaches, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in mentorship and ongoing clinical education opportunities.
  • Contribute to our vibrant community through occasional race support, workshops, and events.
  • Work with your Clinic Director to set personal development goals and growth targets.

Qualifications

  • Current physiotherapy license in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and Professional liability insurance
  • Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication abilities and genuine enthusiasm for patient education
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Passion for working with active populations and understanding their unique needs
  • Acupuncture and pelvic health physiotherapy would be a bonus, but not a requirement.

Ideal Qualities

  • Personal connection to running or sport. There’s no need to be an elite runner, but a genuine joy for movement is key.
  • Desire to learn about and specialize in running assessment, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. We’ll take care of all the training and resources you need.
  • Growth mindset and eagerness to expand your clinical knowledge.
  • Enjoyment of collaborative, team-based healthcare delivery.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in practice development.
