This is a permanent, full-time “Physiotherapist” position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Mission of the Yukon Home Care Program is “The Yukon Home Care Program provides client-focused health services in the home, improving quality of life and supporting Yukoners to live independently.”

We are looking for a flexible, creative Physiotherapist with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, to coordinate and supervise Home Care programs in Yukon communities outside of Whitehorse, and provide professional services to Home Care clients and outpatient Physiotherapy assessment and intervention. If you have experience with collaborative program planning at a community level, case management and assessment experience, and the ability to plan and implement programs that promote independence and a meaningful quality of life for Home Care clients, this position is for you. You must be an excellent communicator, be very comfortable working in a cross-cultural community setting and be able to travel to communities outside of Whitehorse on a regular basis.

Essential Qualifications:

·         A degree in Physiotherapy

·         Experience working as a health professional in a community setting

·         Supervisory experience

·         Experience planning, developing and implementing programs

·         Experience working with various cultural backgrounds

Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

·         Strong ability to collaborate and work within a multi-disciplinary team to promote community development

·         Strong skills working with various cultural backgrounds

·         Excellent organizational, interpersonal and conflict management skills

·         Effective oral and written communication skills

Conditions of Employment: TB screening; Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security clearance; CPR Level C (within last 6 months); WHMIS 2015; valid Yukon Driver’s Licence; and Physiotherapy licence acquired through Professional licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Department of Community Services upon hire.

Job Requirements: Willingness to travel. Exposure to pets, to second-hand smoke, to latex products, to flowers and/or plants and to other irritants while in client homes.
