This webinar will explore the methods currently used for lung volume recruitment within Canada and discuss the research backing and the pros and cons of each.

We will also discuss ventilator hyperinflation, a practice used extensively to treat patients in other physiotherapy communities in the world and discuss if it is something we should be considering adding into our practice.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the treatment menthods that are available for improving lung volume recruitment;
  2. Summarize the advantages and risks associated with each treatment method; and
  3. Use their assessment and clinical reasoning skills to decide which treatment method is appropriate for their patient.
