The CPA can confirm we are aware of and supportive of the innovative and timely work being done in British Columbia to address the ongoing delays to licensure for resident and interim physiotherapists. We are thrilled that the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia is pursuing expedited bylaw changes with the BC Ministry of Health to support clinical evaluation without waiting for the PCE later in 2021. We know this work is difficult, and nothing is assured, but we commend the CPTBC on their hard work in considering alternate solutions to clinical evaluation and licensure. We also thank the BC Ministry of Health for their support in considering solutions in an expedited manner.
We offer our full support and resources to the CPTBC and Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC) in continuing to work through this ongoing issue and look forward to learning more as the situation develops over the coming week.
