We have received a lot of feedback on the CBC Vancouver story that ran yesterday about the ongoing issues with this latest round of the PCE exam. We want to be clear about our position – the CPA stands in support of each and every one of the 2000 candidates. We know that every candidate simply wants to complete the exam and become fully licensed. We have been advocating tirelessly for almost two years for a resolution to this untenable situation.
That resolution – an alternate, rapid path to full registration -- rests solely in the power of the 11 regulators to implement.
This latest failure of the PCE exam places an unacceptable burden on candidates, the profession, and the Canadian public. As our President, Amanda De Chastelain, pointed out in the CBC story -- “We need them [candidates] to be working, fully licensed.”
