The Women’s Health Division Team
Alison Gordon (she/her) is a physiotherapist who practices in both pelvic health and orthopaedics. She is passionate about lifelong learning, creating a positive patient experience, treating the whole person, and blending orthopaedic and pelvic health practices. Alison is currently on maternity leave with her first child, and is eager to practice what she preaches and explore post-natal fitness.
Linnea Thacker (she/her) is a physiotherapist and yoga teacher who currently practices pelvic and orthopaedic physiotherapy out of her own Toronto-based clinic. Prior to graduating with her MScPT degree from the University of Toronto, Linnea completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree (also at U of T) with a research focus on ways of incorporating health promotion into music education. Linnea enjoys working with, and learning from, people from all walks of life on their journey towards greater health and well-being, and is thrilled to be part of such a wonderful team of WHD volunteers.
Marylène Charette (she/her) received her MHSc at the University of Ottawa. Since 2016, she has been a registered physiotherapist in Gatineau, Quebec where she is practicing in pelvic health. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Population Health with Dr. Linda McLean. Her research focuses mainly on the assessment of current practices of women with urinary incontinence, including referral patterns of family physician & barriers and facilitators to conservative treatment such as physiotherapy.
Devonna Truong (she/her) has her own practice as a physiotherapist with a clinical focus in both pelvic health and orthopedics. She is passionate about advocating for the profession of physiotherapy as primary care leaders, the importance of patient-centered and trauma-informed healthcare, and health advocacy that is inclusive of all aspects of health and wellness through patient empowerment and health promotion and prevention. Devonna loves being a part of this incredible WHD team.
Stéphanie Bernard (she/her) graduated from McGill University in 2006 and received her PhD from Université Laval in 2021. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta. Her research interests revolve around rehabilitation before and after pelvic cancers, as well as diastasis-related abdominal dysfunctions. She also works in a private practice in Quebec city where she works exclusively in pelvic health with a clientele of various genders and conditions.
Catherine Rastin (she/her) is currently completing the final year of her MSc in Physiotherapy at McMaster University after finishing her BSc in Kinesiology at Western University. During her time at Western, she volunteered in an exercise and pregnancy research lab, which sparked her interest in this field. Catherine is passionate about advocating for gender equality and pelvic health, and plans to practice in this area when she graduates. Outside of school, she loves staying active, baking, and art and crafts.
Rendalyn Preun (she/her) graduated with a MPT from the University of Saskatchewan and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne. She has taken the opportunity to work in multiple Canadian provinces in a variety of practice areas including rural/remote, pelvic health, and acute care physiotherapy. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, reading, and board game nights!
Marie-Ève Lavoie (she/her) is currently in the final year of her MSc in Physiotherapy after completing her BSc in Physiotherapy at Laval University. She is currently achieving a business profile focused on a pelvic and pediatrics health project. Her interest in pelvic health increased during her Bachelor’s degree and she wanted to become more involved in spreading the benefits of pelvic health treatment. Marie-Ève wants to pursue further courses in pelvic health at the end of her Master’s degree and practice in this area. In her free time, she likes to play volleyball, listen to music, and spend time with her friends and family.
Stephanie Boone (she/her) graduated from McMaster University in 2021 with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy after completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Acadia University. She is trained in pelvic health physiotherapy and is so happy to be working full time at The Pelvic Health Clinic by Erika Burger in Dartmouth, NS.
Outside of work and volunteering, Stephanie loves doing pilates and yoga, eating out at fun restaurants, and spending time with her family (she is a proud aunt!).
Clara Rastin (she/her) graduated from McMaster University with a Master of Physiotherapy after completing her Bachelor of Science from Western University in Kinesiology. She is working as a physiotherapy resident in orthopedics with an interest in pelvic health. She is passionate about advocating for underserved populations in healthcare and gender inequality. Outside of work, Clara loves to hike, play tennis, and workout.
Carissa Moore (she/her) is currently completing her final year of her Master of Physical Therapy at UBC, after finishing her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2021. During her time at UBC, she has worked on research for tendon rehabilitation and urinary incontinence in athletes. Carissa has experience working with both varsity and professional sports teams and has a particular interest in the return to professional sport for postpartum athletes, as well as the beneficial role of physical activity in overall pelvic health.
