1) SPC Webinar: Hip – FAIS Assessment and treatment

Presented by: Janine Didyk, BMR (PT), MSc.

Janine is a physiotherapist who has been working in private practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba for more than 15 years. The focus of her clinical and research interests is in the hip, specifically femoroacetabular impingement syndrome and tendinopathy. Janine recently completed a Master of Science where her thesis evaluated baseline characteristics of range of motion, strength, and performance outcomes in those electing to undergo hip arthroscopy.

Janine has lectured on many topics at the annual Pan Am Rehabilitation Symposium and presented on postoperative rehabilitation of hip arthroscopy at The National Orthopedic Symposium, The Canadian Physiotherapy Association Congress, and The Manitoba Orthopedic Symposium.

This session will review the diagnosis and management of femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) with a focus on an exercise-based approach. Rehabilitation exercise selection, trouble shooting, and program design will be discussed for clients ranging from those with a limited history of exercise participation, to recreational and elite level athletes.

2) SPC National Webinar: Balance & Resilience: How Competitive Para Surfing Became the Main Quest for a Clinical Physiotherapist

Presented by: Victoria Feige, BA, MPT, FCAMPT, CHT

Victoria Feige is an accomplished physiotherapist, educator, and elite adaptive athlete. She earned her Master of Physiotherapy from the University of British Columbia in 2012 and pursued advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy, the Bobath Concept, and STOTT Pilates. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2018 and earned her FCAMPT designation in 2019.

Victoria is the first known clinical physiotherapist in North America who is also a wheelchair user. She brings a unique perspective to patient care, blending expertise in hand therapy, orthopaedics, and neuroscience. In the clinic, she adapts treatments to each client’s needs, whether working from her chair, using a rolling stool, or standing beside the treatment table. She has also taught as a GCOMPT clinical instructor at UBC, and adjunct professor at both UBC and Hawai’i Pacific University.

Beyond physiotherapy, Victoria is a fierce competitor in para surfing. For the past eight years, she has represented Team Canada in adaptive surfing, training on the legendary North Shore of Oahu. A five-time world champion and world record holder, she continues to push the boundaries of women’s adaptive surfing. Even when a health setback put her physiotherapy career on hold and disrupted training, she kept pushing forward—finding a way to keep surfing, traveling, and winning.

Her story isn’t just about overcoming obstacles—it’s about redefining what’s possible.
