About the Course:
This course provides clinical training for the practical implementation of neuroplasticity and management of Parkinsons Disease. The course comprises of two parts; e-learning theory (Level 1) and 1 day in person workshop (Level 2). The e-learning includes video modules that teach the foundations of neuroplasticity to improve function, quality of life and long-term exercise behaviour in people with Parkinson’s disease. This must be completed prior to the practical workshop.
The upcoming in-person workshop demonstrates how to bring the core neuroplastic principles into clinical practice. Participants will work alongside people with Parkinson’s and other clinicians through assessment and treatment planning.

The course will be held at Gaitway Neurophysio in Hamilton, Ontario. This one day in-person course is being delivered by Shelly Yu and supported by Orla Hares. Shelly is very active in the Parkinsons community in BC and provides virtual physiotherapy, Exercise Programs and Education. She also works as part of the “Parkinsons Ready” program which works with communities to educate residents and key figures on how to support those with Parkinsons travelling to their area for World Parkinsons Congress conferences.
Orla Hares is over 20 years qualified and owns and operates the Parkinsons Wellness Innovation Centre in Hamilton. They are a licensed facility providing regular 10week PD warrior programs as well as Parkinsons specific rehabilitation, group classes, support groups and regular webinars.
