Overview:
This webinar provides an overview of the optimal evaluation and proactive management of common hand and wrist sports acute traumatic injuries—including phalangeal & metacarpal fractures, finger and wrist ligamentous injuries, finger dislocations, scaphoid fractures, scapholunate injuries, and TFCC tears. It highlights evidence-based strategies to accelerate recovery and reduce the risk of complications—such as deformity, stiffness, and instability—that can significantly delay return to play. Participants will learn injury-specific positioning and guidelines for early mobilization, immobilization, or referral to hand surgery.

Ce webinaire propose un aperçu de l’évaluation optimale et de la prise en charge proactive en phase aigüe des blessures sportives traumatiques courantes de la main et du poignet — notamment les fractures phalangiennes et métacarpiennes, les lésions ligamentaires des doigts et du poignet, les luxations des doigts, les fractures du scaphoïde, les lésions scapholunaires et les déchirures du TFCC. Il met en lumière des stratégies fondées sur les données probantes visant à accélérer la récupération et à réduire les complications — telles que déformation, raideur et instabilité — susceptibles de retarder considérablement le retour au jeu. Les participants apprendront le positionnement adéquat propre à chaque blessure, ainsi que les indications pour la mobilisation précoce, l’immobilisation, ou la référence en chirurgie de la main.
Speaker biography:
Minh-Quan has developed a passion for Hand Therapy and Hand Surgery since 2009. Since completing his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at McGill University in 2013, he has dedicated his career exclusively to the assessment and treatment of acute trauma, postoperative cases, and sports injuries of the hand and wrist in a private clinic setting. In 2019, he joined the elite group of the few Certified Hand Therapists (CHT), and since then, he has also served as a mentor for future hand therapists. His patients benefit from personalized, cutting-edge care aimed at improving and accelerating their recovery and healing following an injury or surgery to the hand or wrist.
Today, Minh practices exclusively at the Kinatex Rockland clinic, where he collaborates with several hand specialists and hand surgeons across Greater Montreal. He is also a regular speaker at the provincial hand surgery conference (ASCPEQ), the national hand therapy and hand surgery conference (CSHT), and the provincial sports medicine conference (AQMSE). In addition, he serves as a consultant for professional and university sports teams, as well as professional performing artists (CFL, Tennis Canada, NHL, ECHL, LHJMQ, Olympians, Cirque du Soleil, Université de Montréal Carabins, McGill University Redbirds, etc.).
Minh also holds the roles of co-owner of Kinatex Rockland, co-coordinator of the Hand Interest Group, member of the ASCPEQ scientific committee, and Quebec regional representative for CSHT.

Minh-Quan a développé une passion pour la Thérapie et la Chirurgie de la Main depuis 2009. Depuis la fin de sa Maîtrise en ergothérapie à l’Université McGill en 2013, il consacre sa carrière exclusivement à l’évaluation et aux traitements des traumatismes aigüs, des cas postopératoires, et des blessures sportives de la main et du poignet en clinique privée. En 2019, il s’est joint à l’élite des rares Certified Hand Therapists (CHT), et depuis, il agit aussi comme mentor pour les futurs thérapeutes de la main. Ses patients bénéficient de soins personnalisés de pointe pour améliorer et accélérer leur rétablissement et leur guérison suite à une blessure ou chirurgie à la main ou au poignet.
Minh œuvre aujourd’hui exclusivement à la clinique Kinatex Rockland où il collabore avec plusieurs médecins spécialistes et chirurgiens de la main du Grand Montréal. Il s’implique aussi régulièrement en tant que conférencier au congrès provincial des chirurgiens de la main (ASCPEQ), au congrès national de la thérapie et la chirurgie de la main (CSHT), et au congrès provincial de médecine du sport (AQMSE). Il agit en plus comme consultant auprès d’équipes sportives professionnelles et universitaires, et d’artistes de la scène professionnels (CFL, Tennis Canada, NHL, ECHL, LHJMQ, Olympiens, Cirque du Soleil, Carabins de l’Université de Montréal, Redbirds et Martlets de l’Université McGill, etc.).
Désormais, Minh occupe également les rôles de co-propriétaire de Kinatex Rockland, co-coordonateur du Groupe d’Intérêt de la Main, de membre du comité scientifique de l’ASCPEQ, et de représentant régional du Québec pour CSHT.
