Location: ARC by Pivotal Physiotherapy: Evolve and Athletes Hangar
Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available (up to 35 booking hours p/w)
Position: The physiotherapist is responsible for patient evaluation and treatment of all athletic levels, with an emphasis on the facilitation of sporting performance. This role is underpinned by knowledge of recovery science and load management. The Physio will collaborate closely with Strength and Conditioning coaches to develop and implement effective treatment and training plans for athletes.
Compensation: Contractors will receive a commission-based earnings package, which increases with professional development and continued education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- MSc PT degree or equivalent
- Undergraduate study in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or similar
- Post-graduate designation in Strength & Conditioning or Exercise Physiology
- Physiotherapy professional development tools (e.g., Dry Needling, Spinal Manipulation, Sports Therapy coursework)
- On-field sports first responder experience
- 2 years experience in the profession
Competencies and Skills:
- Scientific rationale for intervention within the model of recovery; modalities and hands-on treatment.
- Understanding of training program demands and how progressive overload manifests in the symptomatic but uninjured athlete.
- Ability to recognize overtraining precursors and adjust programmed workouts immediately to prevent relative energy deficit syndrome while keeping the athlete training in a progressive state.
- Understanding of how effective energy system manipulation and polarized training models will lead to exercise-induced muscle damage and how to reduce the recovery window in this state.
Responsibilities:
- Grow and maintain a caseload while being an integral part of the team.
- Goal-oriented treatment using outcome measures to establish a successful intervention.
- Collaborate with Strength and Conditioning coaches in athlete management and development.
- Eagerness to promote physiotherapy in the active community.
- Recognise the importance of self-branding and marketing in building a caseload.
- Professional Development: Professional development will be encouraged within the company through in-service style workshops and externally via courses, seminars, and skills training.
