The South East Grey Community Health Centre is a non-profit organization committed to providing primary care services and health programs to the residents of the Municipalities of Chatsworth, Grey Highlands, Southgate and West Grey. We are committed to building a healthier South East Grey community through:  health promotion, illness prevention, and comprehensive, client-centered primary health care.

SEGCHC is currently seeking a 0.8 FTE  (4 days per week) Physiotherapist, who will work with another 0.8 FTE Physio. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Physiotherapist will work as part of a dynamic, inter-professional team.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Advocating on the behalf of clients, participating in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of care programs and services for individuals, families and communities.
  2. Working with clients to identify and improve their movement and function. Helping to promote their clients’ health and wellbeing, and assisting in the rehabilitation process by developing and restoring body systems, in particular the neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
  3. Developing and reviewing treatment programs, comprising manual therapy, movement, therapeutic exercise and the application of modalities.
  4. Treating a wide variety of conditions, such as injuries and fractures (including sports injuries), orthopaedics, arthritis, strokes, post-surgical rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions, women’s health, posture and movement, neurological conditions. Treatment involves encouraging exercise and movement by the use of techniques such as therapeutic movement and exercise therapy, massage, manual therapy and modalities for pain control and functional improvement.
  5. Charting, participating in chart reviews and making the appropriate referrals
  6. Educating and advising clients and care providers on prevention and/or ways to improve conditions
  7. Liaising with an interdisciplinary team to supply and receive relevant information about the background and progress of clients, as well as referring patients who require other specific medical attention.

Education and experience required:

  1. Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  2. Three to five years of experience in a community setting or a combination of community, hospital and public health settings; primary care experience an asset.
  3. Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  4. Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Commitment to and understanding of the Community Health Centre model of health and well-being.
  6. Advanced proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (Practice Solutions would be considered as asset).
  7. GLA-D Training, pelvic floor training or experience or training for physio in Pregnancy, would be an asset
