Physiotherapy Canada, the official journal of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, invites applications and nominations for the role of Scientific Editor/Co-Editors. As the voice of physiotherapy research in Canada, the Journal seeks strategic leadership to uphold and advance its scholarly impact globally. Both single (Editor) and shared (2 Co-Editors) models are being considered to accommodate flexibility in the time commitment for this prestigious role.

The Scientific Editor/Co-Editors guide the Journal’s vision and direction, ensure scientific integrity and ethical publishing, and oversee all aspects of peer review and publication. Responsibilities include managing manuscript review and decisions; selecting reviewers/guest editors/commentators; working closely with Associate Editors and reviewers; collaborating with the publisher on journal production, chairing Editorial Board meetings, liaising with the publisher and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and representing the Journal within the research and professional community.

The Journal publishes four issues annually and is supported by an active Editorial Board. Appointments are for a three-year renewable term, with Editorial Board meetings held virtually twice per year. An honorarium is provided to the Scientific Editor/Co-Editors in recognition of this leadership role.

We seek candidates who bring:

  • An established record of scholarly achievement in research related to physiotherapy (Associate or Full Professor rank preferred)
  • Experience with editorial boards
  • Evidence of research leadership and service that advances physiotherapy
  • The ability to provide strategic vision, mentor editors and reviewers, and promote the Journal nationally and internationally
