2026 Board Recruitment
Who are we?
The Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) represents physiotherapy professionals, including registered physiotherapists, physiotherapist assistants, physiotherapy technologists, and students across Canada. Physiotherapy professionals provide essential rehabilitative care and treatment, enabling Canadians to live well and actively participate in all facets of their lives.
The CPA was established in 1920 to maintain standards of education and practice for physiotherapy in Canada. CPA provides leadership and direction to the physiotherapy profession, fosters excellence in practice, education and research and promotes high standards of health in Canada. The CPA was continued under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, operates on a not-for-profit basis and is not subject to income tax.
What are we looking for?
The CPA is seeking candidates to fill three (3) vacancies on the Board of Directors for three-year terms beginning in June 2026.
To learn more about the opportunity, including eligibility, responsibilities, time commitment, and process, download a copy of the 2026 Call for Directors document here.
If an individual would like to run for a position as a Director, they will be subject to nomination requiring the submission of a signed Candidate Application Form which can be downloaded here.
For the 2026 recruitment cycle, the Call for Directors outlines general attributes and specific skills that CPA is looking for in candidates, but also has priorities for Internationally Educated Physiotherapists (IEPT’s) and Advanced Practice Physiotherapist Practitioners.
