Sports Centre Physiotherapy in Charlottetown PEI is offering a fantastic opportunity to advance as a physiotherapist in sports. You will work exclusively with college athletes and teams, receive structured mentorship from Colin Moore, a diploma holder and mentor in the SPC credential program and Ellen Dixon, a certificate holder in sports physiotherapy. You will work in the Holland College-based clinic treating college athletes. You will work directly with Holland College varsity teams from tryouts, preseason, regular season, playoffs, and potentially Nationals. This fellowship enables you to take a large step towards the certification process in sports therapy as you will be able to gain approximately 100 hours of on field work with soccer, rugby, football, volleyball and basketball.

The fellowship runs from Aug 26, 2024 to April 25, 2025.

Fellowship consists of:

  • 25 to 30 hours a week of clinic time*
  • 10 to 15 hours of game coverage for Holland College Hurricane fall and winter sport teams (cover teams for their complete season)*
  • Weekly meetings with diploma and/or certificate holder
  • Teacher assistant for athletic injuries course
  • In house educational sessions at Sports Centre Physiotherapy

*Hours will vary with time of season, playoffs, and Nationals and will average out to these numbers over the course of the fellowship.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Valid license to practice in PEI
  • Valid liability insurance
  • Sports First Responder certification
