Full-time physiotherapy position. In this physiotherapy position, the employee is based in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team and traveling to communities in the Kivalliq region.
OR:
Casual physiotherapy position (virtual services and community travel role). In this position the employee can be based anywhere in Canada (preference will be given to applicants based in Winnipeg) but must be flexible to travel to Kivalliq region of Nunavut and provide ongoing remote follow up services (i.e. phone, telehealth). Education and Qualifications:
• Physiotherapy degree required.
• Must be currently licensed to practice physiotherapy with good standing in a Canadian Province.
• Eligible for membership with Canadian Physiotherapy Association required.
• This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
Experience:
• Two or more years directly related general clinical experience preferred
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Experience in a cross-cultural setting preferred
Skills and Abilities:
• Effective oral and written communication, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team essential.
• Must have a well-developed understanding of professional responsibility and confidentiality.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision and be self-directed and prioritize own work.
• Proficiency in the Inuktitut language is an asset.
• Must be able to work in a remote setting with limited resources.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive assessment and intervention services to clients of all ages, with acute and chronic disorders of musculoskeletal, neurological and/or cardiopulmonary systems.
• The Physiotherapist is a part of a multidisciplinary health care team in a cross-cultural setting, providing comprehensive community-based services in the Kivalliq region.
Salary range is from $44.46 to $63.43 / hour depending on experience and location. Travel expenses are provided; relocation and northern living allowance to be determined by position.
