Dr. Michel Landry, President of World Physiotherapy:
Keynote Presentation – Thursday, April 25th, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Not looking back but want to look around”; Reflections on the Global Physiotherapy Village.

In his talk, Dr. Landry will argue that the global village of physiotherapists now finds itself at a crossroad: choose to adapt and thrive in an aggressively changing new world, or choose to resist, entrench, and fervently protect the values and culture from our founding well over a century ago.

Stephanie Lurch, Contemporary Physiotherapist and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto:
Keynote Presentation – Friday, April 26th, 9:00 am – 10:30 am

Manifesto of a Critical Consciousness

Movement is one of the things that makes us human, whether it is movement of the body, or the slow movement of justice. In this keynote address Stephanie Lurch explores notions of injustice, interconnectedness, personal agency and liberation within the contested space of the physiotherapy profession. Using personal stories and art she addresses difficult truths, provokes criticality and urges us to rethink how we live, work, learn and play

André Picard, Health columnist at The Globe and Mail
Keynote Presentation – Saturday, April 27th, 10:30am – 12:30pm

Critical Care | What’s Happening in our Health Care System

Where does our healthcare system stand? What are the challenges and opportunities to improve the coordination and effectiveness of services across the nation? How do we re-orient our attention and investments to build a true “health system” rather than the current illness-treatment system? What is the special role and opportunity for community-based agencies, including Community Health Centres? One of North America’s foremost thinkers shares his insights and vision.
